Holger Bonin

Holger Bonin is professor of economics with a focus on labour market and social policy at the University of Kassel. Since 2016, he is Research Director at the institute of Labor Economics (IZA) in Bonn. Previously, he led the Research Department “Labour Markets and Social Insurance” at ZEW – Leibniz Centre for European Economic Research in Mannheim. In his empirically orientated research projects, he investigates fundamental structural changes on labour markets, the economic and demographic impact of migration and the effectiveness of active labour market policies and family-friendly measures. Apart from research, Holger Bonin is active in scientifically-founded policy advising. Among other things, he currently manages the accompanying evaluation of labour market policy integration measures for refugees on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs.
